In Rayman Redemption

Stone heads are enemies introduced in Rayman Redemption, encountered a few times in the Blue Mountains. They're an homage to the stone men in the Game Boy Color version of Rayman, sharing a behavior of throwing their head, and having a similar design, although the head and the name are a nod to the totem pole featured during Mr Stone's fight.

Stone heads freely wander on platforms and go back whenever they meet an obstruction or an edge. They can only attack Rayman once with their heads when he comes close to them, after which they lose it permanently, although this does not alter their resistance or hinder their ability to move around. When their invincible head is thrown, it bounces forward a few times on the ground like a ball, reacting accordingly to the shape of the terrain, before falling off the stage once it comes to a stop.

To defeat a stone head, Rayman must punch its body five times, or just two with an enhanced punch. Their heads are also ejected if Rayman manages to hit a stone head before it attacks him, thus making them hazardous even when defeated.

In Rayman ReDesigner

Stone heads return as enemies from Rayman Redemption, being identical to their previous appearance. They are available through the editor in the first page of the enemies tab, and can be flipped or linked to events such as gendoors.

Stone heads can fall with a unique animation if they were placed in the air of if they reach the edge of a platform with special non-solid collisions next to it such as reactionary or damaging tiles. However, they turn back when encountering the limit of a level.

If a stone head is less than five tiles away from the top of a level when throwing its head, the projectile will disappear out of the screen. A single hit is enough to defeat them with the Heavy Metal Fist or the Shock Rocket, or by touching them with the invincibility power-up, although their head will still be thrown.
