The Musician is a friendly character appearing in some fan-made games, such as Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror or Rayman Redemption. He lives high in the Blue Mountains with his family.

In Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror

Hi Rayman! Nice to see you again! Dude, this place gives me the chills! I came here to search for a rare mushroom... I'm going to use it to make an... elixir of sorts. Wanna help a man out?

The Musician as he appears in Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror, always playing his guitar.

Rayman encounters his old friend the Musician in the Brutal Burialground's hub, playing his guitar and appearing as he was in the original Rayman. The Musician is looking for a rare mushroom, and asks Rayman if he can find him one.

Rayman can obtain the rare mushroom in the second part of Prickly Vines after having unlocked the green clouds by freeing the Magician. If he brings it to the Musician, he will reward Rayman with an extra life and 25 coins.

In Rayman Redemption

The Musician appears in Rayman Redemption, at the beginning of Mr Stone's Peaks, reprising a similar role to his appearance in the original Rayman, and now having a dedicated theme music later used for most of the level's first part. When Rayman meets him, the Magician mentions that his guitar had been stolen by a rock monster. Rayman returns it to him, and the Musician gives Rayman the super helicopter potion.

He's later seen in the corrupted version of the Lonely Cliff, alongside Rayman's other friends.

During the ending, he and his family are seen happy together alongside Mr Stone sitting on a rock after he turned good, the latter holding his super helicopter potion. The Musician's child and a confused Electoon can be seen perched on the stone giant's head, while two other Electoons and a stone man are also here, sleeping.

In Rayman ReDesigner

The Musician returns from Rayman Redemption, implemented in version 1.3.0 as one of the decorative characters, and can be found in the third page of the editor's decoration tab. As such, he cannot be interacted with, but can be flipped or linked to events such as gendoors. Uniquely, the Musician has two separate versions to place in the editor called "Musician" and "Musician Playing", the first being him without his guitar and the second being him playing it.

Additionally, his theme music added in Rayman Redemption can be selected as a level track, or be triggered from a music starter since version 1.4.0 which also added his guitar sound from Rayman 1 as a selectable track.

Trivia

• Along with his hippie-like appearance, his phrasing when mentionning making an "elixir of sorts" from a rare mushroom in Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror implies it may be of a dubious nature, possibly being an hallucinogenic drug-like concoction, similarly to the effects of the secret weird mushroom in Rayman ReDesigner. Otherwise, his intention to make an elixir references the Musician owning the super helicopter potion.
