You have come quite far. Maybe even too far... You are interfering with something you cannot comprehend. Let's see how you handle this.—Mr Dark unleashing Bad Cake, Rayman Redemption
In Rayman Redemption
Bad Cake is a mini-boss introduced in Rayman Redemption. It appears in Choco Chambers, where it is brought to life inside a pool of hot chocolate by Mr Dark's spell. It looks like a pair of chocolate-covered eyeballs, and makes growling noises. Bad Cake triggers a perpetually-rising flood of chocolate, which Rayman must avoid by climbing higher and higher.
In the first phase of the encounter, Bad Cake is invulnerable and the level plays like a regular flood level, with Rayman jumping and climbing platforms, avoiding various enemies in order to reach the exit sign.
In the second phase, Rayman combats Bad Cake directly, while navigating chocolate-shaped platforms amidst a continuously rising chocolate flood. Every so often, a piece of fruit suspended on a rope will traverse the screen, such as a strawberry, raspberry or grapes. If Rayman throws his fist at the fruit, it will fall down. If a fruit hits one of Bad Cake's eyes, it will submerge for a few seconds, and launch a series of six chocolate projectiles at Rayman before resurfacing. After being hit six times, Bad Cake disappears into the chocolate and the level ends.

Bad Cake is one of the opponents in the True Boss Rush and is fought again in its second phase, its eyes turning pink. This harder version of Bad Cake shoots three chocolate projectiles at the same time instead of one, for a total of eighteen instead of six.

As he's the only surviving boss in Candy Château after Mr Dark's final defeat, Bad Cake also appears in the ending, having turned good and looking at the Clown Chef's machine as he's offering ice creams to various characters.

In Rayman ReDesigner
The Bad Cake does not appear directly in Rayman ReDesigner, but all of its sprites are in the game's files and the hot chocolate liquid returns from Rayman Redemption independently from it.
The hot chocolate liquid behaves exactly like other liquids, and can thus go down or up at various speeds, or be assigned sway up and down movements, including rubberbanding since version 1.2.0. It makes the same unique noise as lava when Rayman drowns in it since the sound was implemented in update 1.3.3, and emits considerable light in dark levels, although it doesn't generate fog as lava did in Rayman ReDesigner's early versions.

Trivia
- Ryemanni has shown an early idea for the Bad Cake's design in Rayman Redemption's postmortem stream, which he claimed is from Rayman Activity Centre, and would have looked a lot more like an actual cake.
- The Bad Cake is similar in concept to some of the Sweets world enemies from the Game Boy Advance adaptation of Rayman Raving Rabbids, such as the spitting religieuse or the vampire cake, the later also attacking Rayman with chocolate projectiles.
- Bad Cake goes unnamed in Rayman Redemption, but its name can be found both in Rayman Redemption and Rayman ReDesigner's internal files and has been used by Ryemanni every time he referred to it.
- The mini-boss theme New Foe plays while Bad Cake is chasing and fighting Rayman.
