Alien Android is the fifth boss of Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror. It's a cyborglike robot of the same extra-terrestrial specie as Joe, guarding the alien base's core and key in Almost Space.

In Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror

Rayman fights the Alien Android in the penultimate part of the Final Frontier. The robot attacks Rayman with laser projectiles from its arm cannon aimed directly at him, and by jumping from one side of the arena to the other. There's a Simple Power at the right edge of the area, which can be helpful as the Alien Android's shots can be very difficult to dodge due to their accuracy and the machine's fast firing rate.

Like the other alien boss, the U.F.O, the Alien Android is one of the few bosses of the game with an accurate health bar, with twenty health points, making up for its lack of defensive measures. After twenty successful hits, the Alien Android goes haywire and blows up into metallic chain-like pieces, leaving five coins as its remains. Rayman then gains the alien key and is able to leave the space station. If Rayman later returns to have a rematch with the Alien Android, the player can skip the fight by pressing the Enter key.

Trivia

  • Despite its name, the Alien Android appears to be more akin to a cyborg, although its seemingly organic parts could actually be synthetic.
  • Its laser projectiles are the same as B.A.D Machine's cannons, and are thus a recolor of Space Mama's laser beams. Its torso is also clearly inspired by Space Mama's space suit, making it a typical space outfit in Rayman's universe.
  • Its feet and left hand are recolored from Rayman's, while its head is repurposed from Joe's, its antennas being the only ones staying up.
