The Lonely Cliff is the first level of Final Showdown, the eighth world in Rayman Redemption, although the cliff's environment is from the Blue Mountains. It consists of a single part, and is unique in several senses. It first appears above Mr Sax's Hullaballoo right after Mr Sax's defeat. At that point, the world name above the level is shown as ???. Rayman can enter the area, but can only explore part of it, as all three kinds of Pink helpers are required to get to the top of the cliff. However, even after all Pink helpers are released, the level still cannot be completed normally, as there is no Exit sign.
After Rayman defeats Mr Dark at the end of Mr Dark's Dare, he needs to visit The Lonely Cliff. At the top he is greeted by the friends he met on his journey. Betilla urges him to chase Mr Dark into his hideout at the End of the World to recover the Great Protoon and stop the collapse of the world. Rayman mounts Bzzit and they fly to their destination.
After this event takes place, The Lonely Cliff will appear as completed on the world map. It may be re-entered, but may not be completed again, as the top cliff will remain empty, and Bzzit will not be there to carry Rayman to the End of the World.
This level hides an easter egg in both of its versions, which can be reached by successfully jumping to a ledge on the level's left border from the top of the cliff, building speed from the slippery snow being needed to achieve such a long jump. If Rayman stands on the ledge, several clouds will spawn, leading him to the secret. Rayman will be able to walk on a very long rectangular stone platform with a text above thanking the player for playing the game, multiple Speed fists being found all the way on the platform. At the end of it, Rayman will find Noseless Rayman's head floating in the air, albeit it does not do anything.
Trivia
- Despite returning to its original state after the events of The End of the World, the level is still considered a part of the Final Showdown world and its introduction remains changed, featuring the corrupted sky gift. Prior to its transformation, it used the Blue Mountains' introduction instead.
- Prior to version 1.1.0, the right edge of the cliff was blocked by an invisible wall. The wall has since been removed, but this side of the cliff only leads to an instant deadly fall.
- Noseless Rayman is the only easter egg that's repeated in the game, being also found in The Lair of the Chessmaster.
