This is the "Brutal Burialground"! "The ghost king" lives here... Maybe he'll let you pass if you don't anger him.
The Brutal Burialground is the eighth world of Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror, featuring the levels Ghostly Adventures, Prickly Vines and Castle of the Ghosts. It is a dark and macabre region lush with strange purple vegetation and filled with graves and eerie pools of greenish water. It is haunted by many ghosts and is ruled by the Reaper, awaiting Rayman in his castle so he can attempt to reap his life away. From here, Rayman can reach both the Fiery Fort and the Freezy Freezer.
Trivia
- Most of its assets are recolored from the Dream Forest, while the castle has purple tiles similar to other worlds like Flint Jail, Fiery Fort and the Dark Stronghold.
- Scoop Kick!, a game made by Ryemanni, contains an homage to the Brutal Burialground through a bonus world titled "Brutal Burial Ground" implemented in the 1.1.0 Halloween update, featuring ghosts and pear bosses wearing the Reaper's mask, including ghosts of them also wielding his scythe in a final level called "The Pear Reaper". Its second stage, "Poltergeist Gardens", is also named similarly to the "Haunted Gardens" music from Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror' stereo soundtrack. It is unlocked at the same time as the Freezy Freezer, titled after the world of the same name in Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror, and is accessed from the Crusty Carnival world which features a remake of The Toy March track from Rayman Redemption, also created by Ryemanni.
