Fanon/The Quest To Save Rayman
The Quest To Save Rayman is the Season 3 finale (and the false series finale) of The Adventures Of Rayman, and sets the stage for the next season, in which Rayman and Betilla both get trapped in a dark prison. Flame makes his debut in this episode.
synopsis
Mr Dark captures Rayman, intending to use his powers to take over the Glade. Can Betilla rescue him before it’s too late?
plot
The episode begins at the Heart Of The World, where Rayman is defending the Great Protoon from Mr Dark. After a brief fight, Rayman is injured and then carried away by Mr Dark, as he escapes on an airship with Rayman. Betilla sees the airship fly away. She tries to stop it, but then Mr Dark zaps her with a lightning shock, sending her falling into the forest.
Betilla gets up onto her feet and tries to find where Mr Dark went, but she doesn’t see a trace of him. She decides to go to the Snoring Tree to have a meeting with Polokus, who tells her that she needs the 3rd mask, which is hidden in the fiery depths of Hades that can help to free Rayman. He then blows a bubble that teleports Betilla to Olympus Maximus.
After arriving in the underworld, Betilla begins her search. After a searching montage, she is chased by dark creatures into a temple, where she finds the mask, but is then attacked by the Red Devil. He tells her that the mask is his, and Betilla replies that she needs it to free Rayman. They then make a deal; if Betilla can win a game of chess, she gets the mask, and if she doesn’t, the Red Devil will steal her soul. After a little bit of playing chess, Betilla ultimately wins and gets the mask.
After returning to the Snoring Tree, Polokus tells Betilla that she now must awaken an ancient hero at the Tomb Of The Ancients. He then blows a bubble to take her there. Upon arriving, she does the awakening rhyme (shown below) that summons the hero, whose name is Flame, a man with a burning sword and burning hair, who claims that he is associated with the mask of fire. The two of them make their way back to the Snoring Tree, where they are once again teleported via a bubble, but this time to the Dark Kingdom.
Upon arrival, Betilla follows Flame as they sneak through the dark castle. When they finally get to the top of the tower, they find Rayman half-asleep in a glass container, where Mr Dark is stealing his powers with dark magic, though he stops upon noticing Flame, and the two have a fire duel. This allows Betilla to free Rayman and escape with him in her arms. As soon as Mr Dark realizes what’s happening, he stops fighting and calls his minions to chase down Betilla and Rayman, while Ales Mansay, Henry, and Moe grab fire extinguishers to put out the fire. After a short chase sequence, Flame blocks the minions’ chase by forming a huge wall of fire between them and Betilla.
Just as it seems they are about to escape, Mr Dark appears in front of them, blocking their escape. He then traps Flame and Rayman into 2 separate cages, leading to a climatic battle between Betilla and Mr Dark. After a while of fighting, Betilla seemingly defeats Mr Dark by knocking him out the window, and then frees Flame and Rayman. But then, Mr Dark climbs back up and summons a dark portal that leads to a dark prison. Betilla hands Flame the mask, as Flame manages to escape. On the other hand, Betilla gets sucked into the portal along with Rayman, ending Season 3 on a cliffhanger.

-Instead of the normal closing credits theme playing during the credits, there is ominous music playing, due to the fact that Rayman and Betilla are trapped in the dark prison.
-This is the 8th episode to take place entirely at night.
