Mr Dark’s Getaway is the 3rd and last level of Dark Kingdom, and is also the final level of the game. In this level, the heroes must chase the airship, defeat Mr Dark, and rescue the last incrediball (Scufflemint the lil’ pop), in order to save the forest.

Area 1

Similar to The Lonely Cliff, the level starts with the gang getting on the backs of mosquitoes. Inhalers are recommended in this segment, as this area focuses on lum collecting. There are also several teensies to save as well. After a little bit of flying, Reflux appears as a flying beast, and the heroes are forced to fight him. Reflux attacks similarly to his final phase in Rayman 3, where he fires lightning orbs, and the heroes must damage him by firing at his weak spot (the scepter of the leptys) when he exposes it. After dealing enough damage, the scepter flies out of Reflux’s back, and he shrinks back to normal size, loses his wings, and falls. After this, the team boards the blimp. They then go to a stone circle so they can swap out their inhalers for protectors, as they are recommended for the next area.

Area 2 (the final boss)

The gang sees Mr Dark and Andre watching the fate of the forest. The former turns around and angrily says that he is trying to watch the enchanted forest wither away. He then decides to take the scepter and jump into the sky, turning into a dragon. Rayman and friends must fight him and win!

The battle has 2 phases. The first one has Mr Dark launching attacks at the heroes, like dark fireballs and dark fire breath. He’ll also have lividstones and darktoons rush out to attack. One of his attacks involves him throwing Andre at the heroes to punch them, and when Andre looks dizzy, they must punch him, sending him flying into Mr Dark.

Once Mr Dark reaches half health, the second phase begins. He covers the ground with fire, leaving 3 platforms for the heroes to stand on. His attacks remain the same, but with a new one as well: storm clouds striking lightning on some of the platforms. Once again, the gang must send Andre flying into Mr Dark to deal damage.

Once his health bar is empty, Mr Dark laments on how his power is fading away before “exploding” into a beam of light.

Ending

After the explosion, the team is falling through the sky. They use their flying powers to slow their descent, as Rayman grabs the crystal egg and The Captain grabs the scepter, and promises to bring it back to Gumsi. The heroes land on the Sacred Tree, surrounded by a dying forest. Mr Dark and Andre are nowhere to be found. The egg hatches, revealing an incrediball named Scufflemint, who then uses the power of the incrediballs to grow the Sacred Tree 40 meters, and bring it back to full health. After this, the forest immediately turns green again, meaning that it has been saved from withering.

If the player has not saved every teensy in the game, Vern tells them that even though they restored the forest, they still have unfinished business, encouraging the player to go back to previous levels and save the rest of the teensies. If the player HAS saved every teensy, Vern reprises The Magician’s quote from Rayman Redemption and says “We’ve done it. We saved the world!” As the heroes strike a pose and the camera zooms out, fireworks in the background.

The credits roll, showing what happened to some of the characters. The credits end with a message saying “Happy belated 20th anniversary, Rayman!” showing a picture of him finally getting the 20th anniversary he deserves. However, a post-credits scene plays where Mr Dark turns back to normal and ends up in an area in the woods, where he decides to use a spell to turn the surrounding area into Shady Contracts, overshadowing Rayman Mini console edition.
