Ting Finder

The Ting Finder is a device appearing in each of the the Spooky Raymansion games with the exception of The Spooky Raymansion 3, guiding its user to the Tings nearby.
It takes a unique appearance in every game and functions in different ways depending on the version of the Ting Finder. It is also always available to Rayman by default, except when he's holding a weapon.
In The Spooky Raymansion
The original Ting Finder appears in the form of an electronic map, requiring to be held with both hands. It displays the near layout of the maze, the positions of Tings and Rayman, and how many Tings are remaining.
In The Spooky Raymansion 2

The second version of the Ting Finder is much smaller and appears more similar to a remote with a radar. It points to the Tings in the current level prioritizing the nearest ones, and displaying how many of them are remaining. It also gives some instructions such as finding a Key or a door.
Once Rayman collects Rayman IV, the Ting Finder malfunctions, vibrating with static noises, its arrow constantly spinning and displaying random characters sometimes spelling out the word "NOSE".
In Return to The Spooky Raymansion

The Ting Finder returns in the fourth Spooky Raymansion as the Ting Finder 9000. This evolved version of the device is more similar to a mixture of its predecessors and of a handheld console. It works both as a flashlight and as a Ting detector, pointing to every Ting by prioritizing the closest ones with an arrow and telling Rayman how many are remaining in the current level. This advanced Ting Finder can also indicate the distance separating Rayman from each Ting and the layer in which the item is located.
The flashlight has a limited battery replenished by picking up Tings, and it can be turned off at will. Should it run out of power, the Ting Finder 9000's pointer and flashlight won't work anymore, leaving Rayman in total darkness while displaying a text telling him there's no more power. The Ting Finder 9000 also stores the power-ups picked up by Rayman and is required to activate them, also displaying their remaining usage time. It can thus grant Rayman various temporary benefits, such as unlimited endurance, highlighting Tings or Noseless Rayman's position through every surface, or upgrading the flashlight to illuminate most of the surrounding area.
Globox also owns a Ting Finder as revealed in the game's introduction, as he took his own to go collect Tings in Noseless Rayman's mansion. He's also seen holding a Ting Finder 9000 in the ending, being either his own or the one Rayman brought and replaced with the Shotgun.
Trivia
- The Ting Finder appears to be based on Robo-Pirate technology, and serves a similar purpose to the Lums Radar from Rayman 2 Revolution, being dedicated to Tings instead of Yellow Lums.
- It also has a similar function to the different item locators found in some of Ryemanni's games, such as Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror, Rayman Redemption and Rayman ReDesigner.
- The Ting Finder in The Spooky Raymansion 2 is the only one which does not have its name written on it, probably due to being the smallest.
- Despite not appearing in The Spooky Raymansion 3, the Lantern from this game was the precursor to the Ting Finder 9000's flashlight function.
- The Ting Finder 9000 may also take some inspiration from the Flashlight from Globox Terror: Escape of the Lumar Eclipse for this same feature.
- The Ting Finder 9000's name might be a reference to the "It's Over 9000!" meme.
