—Level description, Rayman ReDesigner

Pink Plant Woods is one of the default levels bundled with Rayman ReDesigner created by Ryemanni, taking place in the Dream Forest, and can be considered the intended first level. It is a faithful recreation of the first level from the original Rayman.

Unlike its counterpart in Rayman Redemption, its changes from Rayman 1 are as minimal as possible, staying accurate to the original Pink Plant Woods in its PlayStation variation, although a few features had to be altered. It features three parts and two extra challenges, as the Magician and his bonus stages return to the game. Betilla's section, however, was completely excluded.

As Rayman ReDesigner retains Rayman Redemption's gameplay, Rayman starts with all of his powers. The bonus stages are also different in function, having no timer despite the later inclusion of the gendoor fairy, replacing the Tings with yellow colored ones, rewarding the player with three lives instead of one, and being exited from a sign. There are also a few inconsistencies, such as missing or misplaced tile textures in a few spots.

Part 1

This is a very short section, featuring no enemies at all, thus making it ideal for players only getting familiar with the controls.

Part 2

As Rayman starts with all his powers, he has no restrictions to reach all the cages and areas. The game's first Magician exit is encountered here.

Bonus level

A very short bonus area where Rayman must jump on nenuphars and collect all the yellow Tings to earn three lives. Similarly to Rayman 1's start of level exit signs, a exit sign is constantly available to leave the map.

Part 3

The classic level's fourth part became the third in this game, due to Betilla's exclusion.

Bonus level

The second bonus level is a tall vertical series of platforms, where Rayman must collect all the yellow Tings to earn three lives. Once again, the exit sign is constantly available, although a second one was also added at the top.

Trivia

  • Rayman ReDesigner's bundled levels can be considered as examples of what can be achieved through the game's editor. Pink Plant Woods, in this case, showcases the possibility to remake classic levels and to create bonus stages.
  • As a remake of Pink Plant Woods is also playable in Rayman Redemption, this makes that level the only returning stage from Rayman Redemption, if ignoring the differences.
  • The bonus levels take the slots of a ninth and tenth section, to clearly separate them from the regular main sections.
  • As all other default bundled levels, Pink Plant Woods was last updated in version 1.2.2, and thus lacks many features and improvements implemented in future updates. As a result, playing the level in the current release results in a warning message, although all of its features fully work as intended aside from the second part's music using the first Pink Plant Woods theme instead of a jungle drum track.
  • In versions prior to 0.1.4, editing Pink Plant Woods could result in a crash.
