- This article is about the item in Rayman fan games. For the item in official games, see Yellow Lum.
Yellow Lums are the most important of all Lums, and are often used as a limited number of collectibles in the games where they appear. They're also the Lum type appearing most commonly in fan games.
In The Spooky Raymansion
Two Yellow Lums appear in the first Spooky Raymansion, being one of the two bonus objectives. Both are found in secret areas hidden behind fake walls, one of the Yellow Lums being visible through a hole. Completing the bonus objective will add a star to the title screen.
In Rayman Redemption

Yellow Lums appear as an easter egg in Rayman Redemption, replacing the Tings and their sounds if the player enters the code LUMTINGS. This takes effect until the player quits the current game.
Additionally, similar Light Lums appear in the Lair of the Chessmaster, providing light in the darkness.
In The Spooky Raymansion 2
The Yellow Lums return in The Spooky Raymansion 2, retaining their purpose as a secret item and being often found behind fake walls. They appear in every level except Level X, as getting all of them will unlock the latter secret stage. As such, there are 5 Yellow Lums in total in the game, with only one being found per level.
In Globox Terror: Escape of the Lumar Eclipse
In Globox Terror: Escape of the Lumar Eclipse, the Yellow Lums are one of the main objectives. The player must collect 10 of them to summon the Lumar, a big luminous orb with similarities to Yellow Lums, being possibly composed of many of them. Using the Lumar to unleash the Lumar Eclipse then allows the player to escape from an exit.
In Rayman ReDesigner
The Yellow Lums do not appear directly in Rayman ReDesigner, but they can still be found in the game's internal files and the decorative Light Lums do return with the same functions. The new Gendoor Fairy also resembles Lums, albeit more of a red one, their eyes and happy expression being also possibly inspired by the Super Yellow Lums.
Their sound effect was reused for the Rayman 2 for PS1 editor easter egg.
In The Spooky Raymansion 3
The Yellow Lums appear again in The Spooky Raymansion 3, having the same function as they did in The Spooky Raymansion 2 and with one appearing in each of the first three levels.
This time, they're required to reach Level 5 from Level 4, and thus to complete the game's story. If Rayman reaches the exit door in Level 4 without the three Yellow Lums, an ending screen will pop up and display what Lums are currently collected in each level or not, hinting at their role in unlocking the final level.
It is not necessary to complete an entire level again once a Yellow Lum has been collected, as the player will keep it by exiting to the title screen.
Trivia
- In most fan games, Yellow Lums retain their appearance from Rayman 2 The Great Escape, or a design similar to it.
- Return to The Spooky Raymansion is the only Spooky Raymansion game where the Yellow Lums do not appear, being instead replaced by the secret game boxes.
