Fanon/Moskito-Back Prizeway

Moskito-Back Prizeway is the 3rd level of Medieval Mayhem. Here, Rayman and Barbara learn how to use protectors and inhalers to protect themselves from danger and attract nearby lums.

When At Adventure Map

Vern claims to have found 100 gems, and says that they can buy cool stuff with them. They use the 100 gems on a lucky ticket, and after scraching it, they get a bronze egg, and a protector named Spike hatches out.

After he grows the Sacred Tree 10 meters, Vern teaches the gang that you should look for suspicious objects hidden on the map. Sure enough, they find one, and it turns out to be another bronze egg, but this time, it hatches out a different type of incrediball, an inhaler named Sniff.

Area 1

The team runs through the ramparts of an epic fortress with help from Spike. As they are doing this, however, a lividstone attacks whoever hero has Spike on their side, the latter explains how he and other protectors can help the hero go invincible for a few seconds if they get hit.

Area 2

This time, the heroes use Sniff to get through a lum-collecting segment on the backs of mosquitoes, as Sniff explains how he and other inhalers can suck lums towards the hero for the entire level. After riding the mosquitoes, they get off on a castle turrent, where they see a bronze egg in a cage.

Just after freeing the egg, a cutscene plays where the team hears sinister laughter. Then, out of the sky comes a dark figure, the shadowy, cloaked, mysterious man who stole the Great Protoon long ago, Mr Dark! He asks if Rayman misses him, while Barbara asks him who he is. Meanwhile, Rayman has a flashback from Rayman Redemption, when Mr Dark almost ended the world. Afterwards, he explains to Barbara about who Mr Dark is, and the latter tells the two that he has returned, ready for a second chance at world domination. His plan is to wither the enchanted forest, and before he leaves, he reprises his “You’re doomed, Rayman…” line from the original game.

Back At Adventure Map

Vern suggests that they should try using the elixers. They use one called Silver Egg, which turns a bronze egg into a silver egg. Then they speed up the incubation time by 5 minutes with the Speed Time elixer. Afterwards, the egg hatches into a creature of the same type as Sniff, named Stench.
