Ryemanni, formerly known as Raymanni[1] and Derp Demon Games[2], is an indie Finnish video game developer and streamer, and one of the most notable Rayman fan game creators.

Ryemanni is best known for Rayman Redemption, an unofficial remake of Rayman 1 which was first available in 2019 as a demo and was subsequently completed and released in 2020. The game quickly rose to the title of most famous and most critically acclaimed Rayman fan game, being often regarded as the original Rayman's best version.

Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror, Rayman ReDesigner and the character Noseless Rayman are also notable creations by Ryemanni, the second being a stand alone level editor for Rayman Redemption which received over a thousand user-made levels throughout the years.

Rayman ReDesigner is intended to be Ryemanni's final Rayman fan game, excluding jokey ones such as Return to The Spooky Raymansion released in 2023. However, Connie and the Essence of Chaos, an upcoming game by Ryemanni revealed in 2024, is a spiritual successor to the Rayman franchise and particularly to Rayman 1 and its derivatives, featuring many similarities and equivalents. Scoop Kick!, which he released in 2022, also features some references to Rayman, such as its fourth level titled "The Grape Escape" or its unlockable character Eggplant-Man, and tributes to his own fan games Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror and Rayman Redemption, including a remake of The Toy March track from Playtopia.

Ryemanni has contributed to some unofficial Rayman projects, such as Ray1Map in collaboration with RayCarrot, Droolie and Adsolution. He also contributed to coding Scrungi Picross!, a fan game for himself which contains a few references to Rayman such as a main menu background theme, and various references to his other games.

Trivia

  • Ryemanni changed from his older username Raymanni in order to not step on Ubisoft's trademark[3] and as a pun on the word rye, possibly as a reference to rye bread which is very similar to his current avatar. He started crediting himself as Ryemanni from The Spooky Raymansion onwards. However, Ryemanni has never changed his pseudonym on the Rayman Pirate-Community where he is still known as Raymanni, most likely due to going inactive on the forum.
  • Both of Ryemanni's first purchaseable games, Scoop Kick! and Connie and the Essence of Chaos, share a food theme, which is also something prominent on his social media such as his avatar being a toast with a face and the first letter of his pseudonym.
