Flint Jail
← Introduction Tropical Isle

Flint Jail is the first world of Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror, also briefly featured in Rayman Redemption as part of the Dark Magician's Challenge bonus stage and in Rayman ReDesigner as tiles for the Extra template. It is a grim prison belonging to the Dark Magician, where Rayman is initially imprisoned before being freed by Betilla.

It features a hub area and four levels: Special Prison, Grim Chains, Red Alarm and Savage Minion, the latter having the same name as its boss. Most enemies appearing here are either variations of the Magic Minions or the classic Hunters from the original Rayman.

Parts of its level design are featured in The Maze of Memories.

In Rayman ReDesigner

Flint Jail's tiles from Rayman Redemption appear in Rayman ReDesigner as part of the Extra template, being featured in its top-right corner. Its background and the stereo version of the Grim Chains track also used for Dark Magician's Challenge are available to select for any custom level, the latter being also selectable from the music starter mechanism since version 1.4.0.

The jail platforms and breakable walls return and can be placed anywhere. Magic Minions and their flying counterparts are also available as entities, while the Magic Wall can be placed as an obstacle. Dark Magician himself was added as a decorative character in version 1.4.0, as well as the magic clouds from Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror featured in a few areas of the original Flint Jail.
