Ly is a young fairy and a major character in Benoraloha media, especially in Rayman Quest, The Adventures Of Rayman, Kinect Rayman, Rayman 4: Cloak Of Darkness, and Rayman 5: Revenge Of Dark Rayman. In Benoraloha media, she is also Rayman’s crush, and later girlfriend.

Her home is in a palace inside a tree in the Fairy Glade, where a statue of her is in the center of the main room. It is visited in Rayman Adventures console edition, The Adventures Of Rayman, Kinect Rayman, and Rayman 4: Cloak Of Darkness, and is also her unlockable stage in Benoraloha Bash.

personality

Similar to her mentor Betilla, she is a calm and very meditative character, even in her captivity in various entries, and spends most of her time meditating deep in the forest, by floating while in a sitting lotus position. When she is not meditating, she is kind, friendly, fun-loving, and puts a lot of faith and trust in the heroes of the world, and is willing to help Rayman defeat Mr Dark and the other villains.

Her main method of attacking is by whipping enemies with her tail, similar to the hair whip from the Shantae series.

Ly can shoot lums from her hands as projectiles.

silver lums

She can grant Rayman and co. new abilities via silver lums, though they aren’t as powerful as those from Betilla.

athletics

She shows great skills in both athletes and gymnastics, as she can run really fast and jump over big gaps.

strength

She seems to be exceptionally strong, as she can juggle all of Rayman’s body parts with ease.

teammate toss

She can use her strength to toss her teammates to new areas.

She can bounce Rayman off the ground and send him flying to higher, harder-to-reach areas.

Betilla

She looks up to Betilla as a mentor, and often takes lessons and/or advice from her.

Rayman

Ly seems to be romantically interested in Rayman, though the latter isn’t sure at first. Later on, Rayman starts to have feelings for her too, and they go on their first date in Double Date, an episode of The Adventures Of Rayman.

She makes her debut in the episode The Precipice, in which she is held captive by Admiral Razorbeard, but escapes with help from Rayman and Globox. She then becomes a major character, even later joining the main cast and gradually bonding romantically with Rayman.

in Kinect Rayman

This is the first time in which Ly is playable (not counting Benoraloha Bash).

She also gets her own dance level called Call Me Ly, in which she talks about how she is training hard to be a better fairy, but at the end of the day, is still willing to have fun with Rayman.

She is currently the only character in the game to be both a playable character and an assist.

Her unlockable stage is Ly’s Palace, her 2 assists are Betina and Tily, and her final smash is her summoning a huge lum, charging it up for a while, then throwing it at the caught opponents with an explosive impact.

as an assist for Rayman

She is his primary assist. When activated, she fires a beam of lums at the opponent in front of Rayman.

in Rayman 4: Cloak Of Darkness

She first appears hanging out with Rayman until the nightmares invade the Glade Of Dreams, at which point she is captured, but is then saved by the gang, and she gives then the power to throw magic fists. She also becomes a playable character as well. She then takes everyone to the Phrys, where her home is, and she introduces the gang to her twin sister, who helps them on their quest.

It is also revealed that she had a counterpart from Dimension X who was Ramon’s girlfriend before being killed by Dark Ramon prior to the events of the game.

-Different scenes in The Adventures Of Rayman, the dance levels in Kinect Rayman, and some idle animations in Rayman 4: Cloak Of Darkness implies that Ly loves dancing.

-Her “pancake” ability is inspired by the comic Hands Down!, in which she uses it to help Rayman save Globox.
