Mr Stone is a giant rock creature and the third major boss in Rayman Redemption. His domain is the Blue Mountains. He is first encountered in Twilight Gulch, where he chases Rayman twice through the level, before eventually leaving.
The final battle takes place in Mr Stone's Peaks, in an area with a giant stone head. The stone head acts like a roly-poly toy, and is the only way to harm Mr Stone. If the head is punched, it will swing back and forth before straightening up again, and hit Mr Stone in the process, if he is located in one of the corners of the screen. The stone head is located too high for Rayman to reach when jumping for the ground, therefore he must take advantage of elements of the environment, such as giant boulders, clouds and pink rings.
In the first phase of the battle, Mr Stone alternates between several attacks - dropping boulders from the sky, which explode into damaging debris, calling in stone dogs, firing pairs of flames, and hopping from side to side, stomping Rayman if successfully landing on him. He also may grab a boulder and hurl it at Rayman. With this attack, he typically holds the boulder for a few seconds. It is then that Rayman must punch the boulder out of Mr Stone's hand, jump on top of it and use it to reach and punch the stone head to harm Mr Stone. Another way to reach the head is to use the cloud which appears on the side of the arena towards the middle of the battle.
After Mr Stone has taken six hits, he loses his arms and torso, and with it the ability for most of his attacks. However, he is still dangerous as he will hop around the arena, attempting to stomp Rayman. Two pink rings will appear at this point. Rayman must swing on them, while avoiding Mr Stone's touch, and punch the head so that it hits the boss. If done quickly and with precise timing, it is possible to trap Mr Stone in the corner and hit him with the head repeatedly, depleting all his health quickly to win the battle.
Two things make the battle with Mr Stone harder in Rayman Redemption versus the original Rayman - the absence of a Big power and two additional hit points that Mr Stone has.
