In the first part, Mr Skops gets angry for his sleep being disturbed, and knocks the bridge from under Rayman, dropping him into the depths. In parts two through four, Rayman crosses the deep caverns, narrowly escaping rising lava.

Part five features Rayman's third and final battle with Darktoon, in a lava-filled chamber. In the last part Rayman reaches the last of the three Toontotems and releases the Pink poles.

The fifth part appears again in the True Boss Rush for Darktoon's third battle.

Trivia

  • This level new to Rayman Redemption introduces three music tracks into the soundtrack, which are Molten Depths, Magma and Rising Lava. Rayman Redemption's soundtrack available on Game Jolt also contains an early version of Rising Lava, which sounds more akin to music from 8-bit and 16-bit video games, and it is the only early level music available in the soundtrack. This makes Molten Depths the level introducing the most new tracks in Rayman Redemption.
  • Molten Depths' name and concept as a lava level is highly inspired by Fiery Depths from the Game Boy Color version of Rayman. Its looks, however, are far more inspired by the Welcome to Darkland project which features extremely similar visuals.[1] It might also be a tribute to the original battle with Mr Skops, as it involved rising lava and the start of its first phase is set very similarly to the beginning of Molten Depths.
  • The Magma ambient music playing at times in this level is the only new music in Rayman Redemption which wasn't composed by Ryemanni and which isn't featured in either the YouTube or Game Jolt soundtrack. It is taken from a video of relaxing volcanic sounds.[2]
