Darkroots, also known simply as Roots, are invincible plant enemies found in Rayman Jungle Run console edition, Rayman Fiesta Run console edition, Rayman Adventures console edition, Rayman Mini console edition, and Rayman Quest. They also act as the boss of The Swamp in Rayman Mini console edition.

They play the role of obstacles the characters must avoid, first appearing in The Root Of All Evil.

in Rayman Fiesta Run console edition

They are found as obstacles in Land of the Livid Dead, and a red variant can be found in the DLC.

in Rayman Adventures console edition

They are found in Toad Story, Fairy Glade, Desert of the Knaaren, Land of the Livid Dead, Dark Kingdom, and Corrupted tree extra.

in Rayman Mini console edition

Unlike most games, this time they also act as a boss and not just an obstacle. They appear as frequent obstacles in The Rabbit Hole, The Swamp, Shady Contracts, and the Teensy Village. They are also the boss of The Swamp in the level Into Darkness, as they chase the gang throughout the level, eventually leading up to an area surrounded by roots with only 3 platforms to stand on, where the heroes must avoid the hazards and shoot firework mushrooms at them to defeat them.
