The Forest of Dreams is the first world of AlteRayman. The visuals are pretty similar to most forest worlds seen in various Rayman games. It introduces the player to the basic mechanics such as walking, jumping, getting collectibles, punching enemies and cages, hanging on ledges and vines, using checkpoints and ending a level. Antitoons and Livingstones make their first appearance here.
In the fourth stage, the player is introduced to plums, later only returning in The Glacking Abyss, which they can punch to make them fall and bounce, and then ride them to reach higher places and cross larger gaps.
At the end of the level, Rayman has to fight the first boss, Jano, who must be defeated by punching him whenever he is looking away. Jano has four health points.
