The games, and a few episodes of {{fanon|The Adventures Of Rayman}}, will often begin with the Protoon being attacked by a villain (usually {{fanon|Mr Dark}} and/or {{fanon|Ales Mansay}}), which causes unbalance in the Glade, strange phenomena, hostile creatures, and if the Protoon is stolen for too long, can result in a catastrophic event that could destroy the Glade.
