The Clown Chef is a friendly character encountered in Rayman Redemption at the beginning of Choco Chambers, lamenting over the broken ice cream machine he traded for his sausage truck. After Rayman fixes his ice-cream machine, the Clown Chef gives him his old frying pan, which Rayman can use to slide on slippery surfaces.

</gallery>

The Clown Chef subsequently appears in the corrupted Lonely Cliff alongside Rayman's other friends to encourage him. He's finally seen in the ending, serving ice creams from his machine to various characters, including a water clown, a hammer clown, a little Livingstone and the ring pirate, while Bad Cake and three Electoons are also present at the scene. Due to the ring pirate appearing in this part of the ending, the image was updated in version 1.1.0 to reflect the pirates' altered appearances.
In Rayman ReDesigner
The Clown Chef returns in Rayman ReDesigner since version 1.3.0 as a decorative NPC in the third page of the editor's decoration tab, alongside more friendly characters from Rayman Redemption.
However, the ice cream machine does not return. He can be flipped or linked to events such as gendoors, but he cannot be interacted with like other decorative characters.

Additionally, the frying pans such as the one he gifted to Rayman are available since the game's original release.

Trivia
* He is designed after the Chef clowns, enemies found in Rayman Raving Rabbids (Game Boy Advance).
* The Clown Chef's voice when he's speaking is made of samples from the big clown enemies' voices returning from Rayman 1.
* His dialogues mentioning his past involving sausages are most likely also a reference to the Chef clowns enemies as they wielded what appeared to be either a sausage or a rolling pin as a weapon.
* The ice cream machine may also be a nod to the ice cream cones from the Sweets (world) of Rayman Raving Rabbids (Game Boy Advance), and so is the fact the Clown Chef is met in Choco Chambers which later features a new background very similar to that world.
Greetings! My "name" is Mortamon Saturn... but you already knew that if you're on this page, right? :P

You may also know me as "Mortamon Y." or "MortaDolly", and I've been a Rayman enthusiast ever since my early childhood!
The Rayman 1 on Saturn introduced me to video games as a whole (which is why my original username was Rayman Saturn), and they've been one of my greatest passions ever since!

Despite what may be believed, Rayman (series) isn't actually my favourite franchise as it's just a bit behind Dragon Quest and The Legend of Zelda, but it definitely has been the one I give the most love online, both in talks and when making content such as videos!

It has been a great honour for me to be one of the precursors of Rayfanpedia and my contributions to this platform are not stopping any time soon! It all started as a small suggestion on a Rayman Redemption topic, and it evolved into a full-on sister project for Main Page!
I hope that this will be of great use to the members of our beloved community and will give the opportunity for their fan creations to get more well-deserved attention!

I want to express my most sincere thanks to Hunchman801 for making this project possible, to Dr＿st for all his help and great work which allowed Rayfanpedia to come this far, and to Hoodcom and Elite Piranha for their incredible work on its beautifully distinct visual identity.
Of course, my thanks to everyone else for their greatly useful contributions both for this wiki and to the community as a whole! This fan wiki wouldn't be a thing without all your fantastic creations!
Trivia?
Yes, that sounds like bragging about something utterly insignificant, but this is the fan wiki, so things like this must be documented. :P
* My Rayman ReDesigner level Rock'n'Run holds the record for the most views on any Rayman ReDesigner-related video on YouTube, and for being one of the most played user levels with over 1,400 downloads shared across its versions on Mediafire and Google Drive, despite having never been released on Rayman Redistributor as of yet. Honestly, it really didn't deserve it and I'm not even documenting it to "brag" about it as the community has made infinitely better creations since Rayman ReDesigners release, which are all far more worth your time as a gameplay experience! Rayman Lum'o'Grams is a puzzle fan game for PCs running Microsoft Windows currently in development by Rayman Universe, or RUNI.

The game belongs to the nonogram puzzle genre and uses both its own and assets of most 2D projects from Rayman series, with the exception of UbiArt games.
The game was first announced at Rayman Alive 2022 as part of the RUNI Showcase segment presenting Rayman Universe projects, which featured a concept trailer. The project's World Premiere took place at Rayman Alive 2023, revealing most of the details of the game.

The first public demo version has been announced for early 2024, but its release has been postponed, and was instead released for Rayman Alive 2025, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Rayman (series).

Similarly to The Spooky Raymansion, the game takes place within a dark maze with the player being chased by a terrifying parody of a Rayman (series) character, Globox being the one hunting for the player's blood in this game.
The player must escape with the help of some items, such as Lums and the Lumar unleashing the Lumar Eclipse, granting the power of freedom to leave the maze through an exit.
True Boss Rush is the last of the Magician's Challenges in Rayman Redemption. It requires to beat the End of the World and to own 40 Magician tokens to unlock, the last of which is only granted upon completion of the penultimate challenge - Boss Rush.

In this challenge, Rayman must defeat all 21 of the main bosses and sub-bosses of the game, as well as a secret boss acting as a second phase to Darker Mr Dark. The challenge must be completed on a single life, without dying, and the player is given only a single Super power and two Big powers, to replenish Rayman's health and power-up his fist between fights.
All bosses have been recolored to look different, and have had their attack patterns modified to make them significantly harder. This, together with more than doubling the number of battles, makes True Boss Rush a far more difficult challenge than Boss Rush.

Some battles aren't fought in the same order as throughout the main adventure, such as Bzzit being fought before the first Darktoon or Mr Sax being fought before the mad drummer. A third form of Mr Dark and additional 22th boss, Darkest Mr Dark, must be defeated as well to complete the challenge. Succeeding will reward Rayman with the Rayman (cancelled prototype) skin and the True Hero achievement.
Trivia
* Bzzit takes the appearance of the Beeskito skin.
* Darktoon's appearance is most likely inspired by the red Antitoons from Rayman Designer who also appeared in Rayman ReDesigner, while his purple cape might be a reference to Mr Dark's appearance in Rayman (Game Boy Color).
* The Tentacle flower's colors are probably a reference to the green skin of the Livingstones, who are spat by the boss. It could also be a nod to the tentacles and Mr Smushy in Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror, as the tentacles used repurposed textures from the flower tentacle.
* Moskito takes the same appearance as the Dark Moskito skin and boss featured in the Dark Rayman fight. Dark Moskito doesn't change his appearance in that battle, however.
* Mr Sax and the mad drummer's colors are probably a reference to the wrong notes, which Mr Sax uses to attack. It also resembles some aesthetics from Band Land.
* Mr Stone's appearance is a reference to the Magma Men from The Caves of Skops, even sharing their pound flame attack.
* Space Mama's appearance in her Viking suit seem more similar to a pirate's outfit, which is further reinforced by her file names being "Piratemama".
* Space Mama in her Greek costume is referred to as "Romama" in the files, thus actually implying a Roman inspiration. Curiously, her hand holding the torch is smaller in the True Boss Rush, thus making her one of the few bosses with a unique sprite part in this challenge.
* The extra Hoplite is the only non-boss enemy gaining an altered appearance in the True Boss Rush.
* Space Mama's red and black colors in her space suit is most likely a reference to the hostile Aliens in Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror and possibly a tribute to Darth Vader, while her red lasers may reference his lightsaber.
* Mr Skops's colors could be a reference to the Large-mouthed fish.
* The Chessmaster's color is probably a reference to the black pieces in chess, making him resemble more the Chess Piece enemies.
* The Menace's colors alongside the original appearance of the twins match the four main colors of Playtopia and of the Toykeys, being blue, yellow, green and red. Curiously, the red Menace's tongue has the same shape as the original green Menace in the True Boss Rush while it had a smaller shape in the original fight, thus changing more than the boss's colors and abilities.
* The stained glass in the Dark Chimera's battle changes colors accordingly since version 1.1.2.
* Mr Dark and Dark Rayman's colors are a tribute to their appearance in Rayman (Game Boy Color).
* If Rayman uses the GBC Dark Rayman skin during the fight with Dark Rayman, the boss will return to his normal Dark Rayman appearance.
* Darker Mr Dark's colors might be a reference to his appearance in Rayman Junior. Prior to version 1.1.0, this hard version of Darker Mr Dark didn't have a unique appearance.

In this challenge, Rayman must defeat all 9 of the main bosses of the game, in the following order: Moskito, Mr Sax, Mr Stone, Space Mama, Mr Skops, The Menace, The Dark Chimera, Mr Dark and Darker Mr Dark. The challenge must be completed on a single life, without dying, and the player is given only a single Golden power and two Big powers, to replenish Rayman's health between fights.

The Chessmaster is a mini-boss in Rayman Redemption, who appears in the Lair of the Chessmaster - the third level of Playtopia. He challenges Rayman to a "chess match", where each player takes control of a king (white for Rayman, black for the Chessmaster), and the goal is to be the first to move one's king to the opposite end of the board.

The kings are moved by punching them, and can only move one square at a time. Since white goes first, Rayman is guaranteed to always win the game, if he can survive. From the second move on, the Chessmaster pull Chess pieces out of his hat, which attack Rayman and hinder his progress. After the fourth move, he will additionally hurl his red bowtie at Rayman like a boomerang. Rayman will need to clear out all the Chess piece minions before he can punch the white king one more step.

Once the white king reaches the other side of the chess board, the Chessmaster observes that he had been checkmated, although in his frustration he accuses Rayman of not playing fair. He relinquishes the Master key, and warns Rayman to get out of his domain, lest he feels like challenging him to a rematch.

Rayman can rematch the Chessmaster in the True Boss Rush, who now has a black color with purplish lips and hat, and stronger attacks.

Trivia
* Originally, the name of Chessmaster was Check and Mate, but this was cancelled.
* The Chessmaster uses samples of Razorbeard's voice from Rayman 2.
* The Chessmaster is one of the bosses' whose battle was the most drastically changed since Rayman Redemptions early production. He had a life bar with eight health points as a possible reference to the number of rows or columns in a chessboard, and he took a much more active role in the fight, manipulating two different black chess pieces to attack Rayman. He would use the pawn to stomp Rayman, and would slide the tower in his direction to ram him. While in his hands, the chess pieces are missing their eyes and hands, but they grow them once the Chessmaster allows the pieces to act out of their accord, thus becoming exactly like the chess piece enemies in the final game. To fight back, Rayman had to push a white pawn towards the Chessmaster until it would hit his face, the pawn also missing hands and eyes. The location was also different, having a dark starry blue background, spikes below the chess board which had smaller squares, and a much more narrow arena cornered by two very tall red walls.
* The Chessmaster is the only boss or mini-boss in Rayman Redemption that cannot be attacked or harmed directly. He has no visible life bar.
* Despite not being a main boss, the Chessmaster is the only Playtopia antagonist to have his name featured in a level's title. If following the worlds' final level tradition from Rayman 1 to have the main boss's name in the title, this honor should have gone to the Menace in Brain Games.
* The game that Rayman and the Chessmaster play does not abide to any known rules of chess. In an actual chess game, a checkmate is not reached by moving one's king to the other side of the board, but by putting the opponent's king under attack without any legal moves to escape or block it.

Most of the landscape, as well as the creatures inhabiting it, are various toys and games. Chess piece enemies, Robots and other mechanical toys such as Jesters and Toy Trains will attempt to hinder Rayman's progress. Rayman can, however, find various objects to help him progress through the dangerous environments, such as basketballs, toy cars that can carry him across vast distances, puzzle piece platforms or yoyo swings.

A specific area in the Lair of the Chessmaster takes place in the dark, like in the Caves of Skops and makes use of the firefly as well as Light Lums to light the way, featuring the most sinister atmosphere in Rayman Redemption.
Brain Games, the final part of Playtopia, is themed after the Rayman (series) such as Rayman Junior, featuring various math problems. Rising water also appears here, with a blue-green color.

The main antagonist of this world is the Menace, an alien-like pest creature capable of splitting into two entities and acting like unruly children.
The Chessmaster is also a prominent villain in this world, ruling over all of its chess elements and the master door guarding Brain Games. Defeating him to acquire the master key in his personal lair is required to progress to the end.
Trivia
* The name Playtopia is comprised of the words "play" and "utopia", reflecting its nature as an ideal imaginary playful paradise.
* Playtopia retains Rayman 1's convention of following a rather realistic world with a surreal one, coming after the Caves of Skops. However, this results in Candy Château breaking that rule.
* Playtopia had several notable differences in Rayman Redemptions early production, such as a green-tinted LEGO background, different Toybots, white puzzle pieces plaftorms, the Child's Play music sounding a bit different, Light Lums appearing more similar to Tings, or a starry background in the dark part of the Lair of the Chessmaster. The boss battles also ended up being drastically changed in the final game.
* Playtopia's loading screen didn't exist yet when the Gameplay Demo for Rayman Redemption was released in 2019, as it was instead a placeholder drawing.
* Most of Playtopia's ideas and aesthetics are highly inspired by the Welcome to Darkland expansion pack project, particularly the chess theme, the toy trees and the main platform tiles. Other decorative objects such as balls, a train, background jester boxes and magic 8-balls, inspired some elements like basketballs, the Toy Train and the Jester enemies, and the small decorative 8-balls.
* Child's Play, the first music theme heard in Playtopia, is remade from the Child (world)'s music in Rayman Raving Rabbids (Game Boy Advance).
* There's an unused music that was intended to play during the car section in Child's Play, titled "MusicToysMini1". It was abandoned as it clashed with the ambient track, but it can still be found in the game's internal files.
* The Toy March, a music heard in Playtopia, was remade for Scoop Kick!, a game also created by Ryemanni, being featured as the Crusty Carnival world's theme.
* Although new sticky tiles were introduced for Playtopia in Rayman ReDesigner version 1.0.0, the whole Playtopia template became invisible due to a mistake and thus its tiles weren't properly available again until versions 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 which fixed all the issues.

Rayman: Scepter of Leptys is an unofficial animated series set in the world of Rayman (series), being developed by vnheard. The series will consist of 3 seasons, each one including 6 episodes.
The show will be 3D animated and include brand-new characters, an original soundtrack, and a new voice cast.

Project history
In 2021, vnheard and Spinu2B started developing Rayman: Scepter of Leptys. The project started as a Unity fangame based on the Rayman 3 gameplay loop. The early builds included many working mechanics and a new enemy, “The Watcher”.

In June 2022, vnheard and Spinu2b decided to split the project because both directors wanted to achieve different end goals according to vnheard "It allows me to tell the story without the limitations of the technical nightmare to make a big game. So the show will be a much better told story than a game that would need a lot of cut corners and compromises."
Spinu started a new project, RayUnited, an open-source Unity framework for creating fangames, while vnheard decided to rework his original story ideas into an animated series format.

In 2023, the scripts for the series' first season were completed, alongside a few character models. On December 16th the reveal trailer for the show was released.

Story synopsis
Five years have passed since Rayman and his friends defeated the Hoodlums and restored peace to the Glade of Dreams.
But, along with Rayman being haunted by the ghosts of his past, a new threat is looming; The Prophet. He is a mysterious leader of the Sorcerers of the Night, plotting to resurrect Leptys, the ancient god of darkness who has been imprisoned for decades.

Rayman and his friends must unravel and fight against this scheme to ensure the safety of the Glade of Dreams.
Meanwhile, Ly, the fairy is forced to confront her own origins and the secrets of the people of Prhys.

Mr Dark is Rayman's arch-nemesis, and a major character in the Rayman (series), both in official and fanmade content. A diabolical and mysterious shape-shifting sorcerer, Mr Dark has attempted to disrupt the balance of the Glade of Dreams on several occasions, but is always thwarted by Rayman.
His features are hidden beneath a shadowy cloak and hat, beneath which only his glowing yellow eyes can be seen. Mr Dark's first official appearance is in Rayman 1, where he acts as the main antagonist and final boss. He makes various appearances in many unofficial games, his most notable one being his role as the main villain and final boss of Rayman Redemption, being fought in different forms.

In Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror
Mr Dark appears as a playable character, being unlocked in the Magician's bonus shop by completing the game and getting every collectible.

He simply functions as a skin of Rayman and plays in the exact same way as him, although his animations and projectiles appear different.
Instead of the telescopic fist, Mr Dark shoots his magic projectiles, which take a unique appearance depending on which fist power-up the player has found or if Mr Dark charges his shot long enough.
To glide, Mr Dark simply emits some dark energy from his cloak, and he can shape-shift his body into simply his head and his feet in order to crawl. When losing a life, his hat is seen falling.

In Rayman Redemption
Mr Dark is the main antagonist and final boss of Rayman Redemption, appearing a few times throughout Candy Château and Final Showdown, and being fought as a boss twice during the adventure and more through optional challenges.
His role is very similar to his appearance in Rayman 1, but is much more involved and he actually makes use of the Great Protoon's powers.

<gallery widths="480px" heights="270px" class="sprite">
File:Capture-Darktoon-TastyReception.png|Mr Dark disposing of Darktoon upon first meeting Rayman in Tasty Reception.
</gallery>

His original ambiguous transformations into three hybrids of the previous bosses have been replaced by the Dark Chimera, an amalgamation of his mightiest minions created by his powers and fought right before him in Mr Dark's Dare.
Mr Dark has two transformations in this game gained through the powers of the Great Protoon: Darker Mr Dark and Darkest Mr Dark, the first being the final boss fought in The End of the World and the latter being an optional secret boss and the ultimate opponent in the True Boss Rush.

During his first battle, Mr Dark is protected by some magic shields as a reference to his appearance in Rayman (Game Boy Color), and he uses many attacks both old and new.
He becomes vulnerable when attacking in his spheric form, bouncing on the walls very similarly to Multi Minion from Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror, which is also a reference to the similar phase in Rayman (Game Boy Color).

<gallery widths="480px" heights="270px" class="sprite">
File:RaymanRedemption-WorldMap-Corrupted.png|The world map corrupted by Mr Dark as seen in the ending sequence.
</gallery>

Mr Dark is fought twice in the Boss Rush, first in his normal form and then in his Darker Mr Dark appearance. He has to be defeated in harder versions of both of these forms as well as his secret Darkest Mr Dark transformation in the True Boss Rush.

During the True Boss Rush, Mr Dark switches to a purple and yellow color palette, as a reference to his appearance in Rayman (Game Boy Color), and he always starts with four of the magic shields inspired from that same game.

His castle in Mr Dark's Dare contains a statue made in his image, which is also found in the hall of the Boss Rush and True Boss Rush.
A Checkpoint skin is also themed around his likeness, being available in the Shop for 100 Tings once Rayman has completed the Dark Medallion.
Mr Dark's badge is used for the icon of the Boss Rush and of the True Boss Rush, and his voice can also be heard when attempting to use a cheat code in Demise mode.

As Darker Mr Dark
Darker Mr Dark is a transformation of Mr Dark achieved by harnessing the powers of the Great Protoon, appearing more menacing, pure darkness emanating from his cloak and the Great Protoon glowing in different colors being held inside his torso. It is battled in the penultimate part of The End of the World.

<gallery widths="480px" heights="270px" class="sprite">
File:Capture-TheEndOfTheWorld110.png|Darker Mr Dark initiating his purple laser attack.
</gallery>

In this form, Mr Dark's abilities become far more potent and he even gains a new set of attacks. The color of the Great Protoon's light changes to signify what power Darker Mr Dark will use:
* Purple (laser): Darker Mr Dark will unleash some powerful beams below himself, moving above Rayman's position between each of them to strike him.
* Yellow (projectiles): A rain of Mr Dark's yellow projectiles unleashed far quicker than in his original form, forcing Rayman to dodge all of them at the same time.
* Blue (Antitoons): Darker Mr Dark will spawn some chomping Antitoons which must swiftly be dealt with if Rayman doesn't want to be overwhelmed.
* Sky blue (thunderbolt): Darker Mr Dark will unleash lightning bolts electrifying the whole ground just as he did before, although he can do so repetitively near the end of the fight.
* Red (walls): Darker Mr Dark will create spiky walls of energy repetitively, quickly moving in Rayman's direction and vanishing near the edge of the platform, forcing him to run to the other side as quickly as possible.
* Any color (orbs): Darker Mr Dark will position himself on the ground at any edge of the platform to continuously shoot two magic orbs from the Great Protoon's power which spin in a way that can only be dodged with a very well-timed jump. This attack mode exposes his core to damage, allowing Rayman to strike him by punching the Great Protoon.

Darker Mr Dark's colours in True Boss Rush might be a reference to Mr Dark's appearance in Rayman Junior. Prior to version 1.1.0, this hard version of Darker Mr Dark used his original colours, as if Darkest Mr Dark was originally intended to be the actual alteration of this form during this challenge.

As Darkest Mr Dark
Darkest Mr Dark, also known as Mr Void, is the second transformation of Mr Dark fought immediately after his Darker form in the True Boss Rush, acting as a secret final boss fought in an unknown dimension of intense darkness.
It takes the appearance of a cloud of ever-flowing darkness with a big pair of furious yellow eyes, flying next to a swollen up and corrupted Great Protoon which turned grey and black and is surrounded by dark orbs acting as a shield similarly to those used by Mr Dark in his normal form.
It is a hypothetical form which Mr Dark could have achieved should he have successfully entirely corrupted the Great Protoon and merged with it, becoming a pure vortex of void and darkness.

<gallery widths="480px" heights="270px" class="sprite">
File:Capture-TrueBossRush328.png|Darkest Mr Dark unleashing his triple laser attack.
</gallery>

As a result, Mr Dark's powers are increased to a nearly godlike degree, being able to use his previous abilities in a more powerful and accurate way and even more relentlessly. Rayman must fight him while riding Bzzit, the latter's speed, firepower and ability to fly being more than required to compete with the mighty foe.
The Great Protoon and the orbs become increasingly redder as Darkest Mr Dark takes damage.

Due to this form resembling a sinister spirit, it is also slightly reminiscent of Mr Dark's ghostly shape as it appeared once defeated at the end of Rayman (Game Boy Color).
It is also the only boss who does not have a different color-palette and alternate variation of its attacks, being already exclusive to True Boss Rush. Due to this, it can be seen as the actual change to Darker Mr Dark in this challenge, further reinforced by the fact Darker Mr Dark's appearance didn't change before version 1.1.0.

It is also one of the few bosses that do not have a health bar, and it takes multiples shots from Bzzit to actually damage his core.

Achievements
* Defeating Mr Dark at the end of Mr Dark's Dare grants the Cloak of Darkness achievement.
* Defeating Darker Mr Dark in the End of the World grants the Battle for the Great Protoon achievement.

In Rayman Bowling 2
Mr Dark is one of the main antagonists and the third boss of Rayman Bowling 2, starting the game's events by challenging Rayman to a game of bowling alongside André and Razorbeard.
In this game, he's secretly another character who disguised himself as the evil sorcerer, The Teller, the true main antagonist and final boss who embodies a video game created by Michel Ancel, jealous that Rayman got all the love from Michel Ancel. The Teller reveals he took Mr Dark's identity ever since the events of Rayman 1 25 years prior to Rayman Bowling 2s events, having waited so long for his revenge since his first failure.

In Rayman ReDesigner
Mr Dark returns in Rayman ReDesigner as he appeared in Rayman Redemption, although he's only available as an obstacle object with six distinct variations, throwing an evil spell at Rayman before leaving the stage by flying upwards in his spheric form. Due to the way Rayman ReDesigner works, more than one Mr Dark can exist at the same time.

These are the six curses available to cast, all found in the second page of the editor's obstacles tab:
* Reverse controls: Inverts Rayman's controls, with left becoming right and right becoming left.
* Forced run: Forces Rayman to run, preventing him from even using his telescopic fist or helicopter. The direction in which Mr Dark is facing will change the direction of the forced run.
* Disable fist: Takes away Rayman's hands, preventing him from using any powers involving them, which includes the ability to hang on to platforms. However, Rayman can still climb just fine, his feet being enough to do so.
* Disable heli: Disables Rayman's helicopter ability.
* Low gravity: Reduces the gravity, making Rayman's jumps much higher and floatier, similarly to the low gravity cheat code in Rayman Redemption.
* Dark Rayman: Summons Dark Rayman to chase Rayman, replicating all of his movements and defeating him instantly on contact just he did as in Rayman Redemption. If Rayman is riding Bzzit or the Dinosaur, Dark Rayman will follow him by riding Dark Moskito or a dark version of the robot dinosaur. If Rayman is using the Dark Rayman skin, the actual Dark Rayman will switch to the GBC Dark Rayman appearance. In versions prior to 1.0.1, this was instead triggered by wearing the SNES Rayman skin due to a mistake. The invincibility power-up can protect Rayman from Dark Rayman as long as it is in effect.

In order for Mr Dark to cast a curse, Rayman must be located close enough in front of the direction in which the sorcerer is facing. This makes it possible to place Mr Dark as a decorative NPC by making sure his curse cannot be triggered.
Although Rayman can be subjected to the effects of every different curse at the same time, using more than one curse of the same type will not result in stacked effects, including Dark Rayman who will remain unique even if his spawning particles can appear multiple times.

Under the effects of a curse other than Dark Rayman, Rayman will have a frustrated face.
Rayman can dispel the effects of a curse and despawn Dark Rayman by making contact with a curse cleaner. Remaining inside one will also instantly remove any curse Mr Dark can unleash, effectively becoming an immunity zone.
Some of those curses make the gameplay more similar to the early parts of Rayman 1 as Rayman didn't start will all of his powers, making it possible for mapmakers to replicate the lack of some powers from Rayman 1 and to make him earn a few abilities through a curse cleaner.

The tall flame, Mr Dark's fire column from Rayman Redemption, is also available as a separate immobile and indestructible obstacle, which damages Rayman on contact and cannot be passed through. Most of his minions are also featured in the game, including Darktoon who can be used as a substitute for his magic projectiles.
The Mr Dark Checkpoint skin from Rayman Redemption is still available and is unlocked by default.

Mr Dark's statue and all the environment in his castle from Mr Dark's Dare returns in the editor through the extra theme, and a "snowman" made out of cream in the Candy Château theme is wearing Mr Dark's hat. The True Boss Rush version of Mr Dark's sprite can still be found in the game's files, despite it being completely unused in Rayman ReDesigner.

Trivia
* Despite not being fought in Rayman Redemptions Gameplay Demo, Mr Dark's hud icon can be found in the internal files.
* Mr Dark gains three new music themes in Rayman Redemption and Rayman ReDesigner, while retaining his original music from Rayman 1 which is used for his first battle in Rayman Redemption. They are named Mr Dark's Domain, Battle for the Great Protoon, and Corrupted Protoon, used for his new castle plus the corrupted world map, his Darker Mr Dark form and his Darkest Mr Dark form respectively.
* Mr Dark's Domain sounds very similar to Mr Dark's original theme, albeit slower and more atmospheric.
* Battle for the Great Protoon sounds very similar to Rayman (Atari Jaguar) of Mr Dark's theme, being a more triumphant and somber rendition of it. This is the most positively received music in Rayman Redemption alongside The Dark Chimera, both having by far the most views and likes on YouTube.
* Corrupted Protoon shares a few similarities to Mr Dark's theme in Rayman (Game Boy Color), but is otherwise a fully original track.
* When playing in 16:9 aspect ratio, two dark stone walls will frame Mr Dark's fighting area in Mr Dark's Dare. As most returning bosses, this was done in order to not stretch the original background art and to keep gameplay the same between 4:3 and widescreen formats.
* Mr Dark's final battles and transformations in Rayman Redemption are reminiscent of the Dark Storm from Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror, as both are beings embodying "great darkness" and are ultimately fought in the skies of the Valley, and both have corrupted the Great Protoon in some way. Before vanishing after his defeat, Mr Dark claims that he will always come back as long as there is darkness in the world, which could be interpreted as the unexplained Dark Storm being a future reincarnation of him or a related entity.
* Mr Dark's final forms in Rayman Redemption are inspired by some final bosses from the Kirby franchise, namely Nightmare.
* Concept arts for Darkest Mr Dark depicts the transformation with different features, such as a unique giant eye merged with the Great Protoon, or giant floating hands with clawy fingers.
The Monk is a friendly character encountered in Rayman Redemption. He meets Rayman in Gong Heights and teaches him how to swing on gold rings, which are very similar in appearance to the oversized earrings the Monk is wearing.

Unlike other Monks, he is about as tall as Rayman and appears to be completely limbless, aside possibly for his neck. He later appears again in the Lonely Cliff alongside Rayman's other friends once Mr Dark starts to corrupt the world.

In Rayman ReDesigner
The Monk returns from Rayman Redemption as a decorative character in Rayman ReDesigner, implemented in version 1.3.0, and available from the third page of the editor's decoration tab.
He cannot be interacted with, but can be flipped or linked to events such as gendoors.

The gold rings and other Monks holding bongos are also available in the editor, although they were available since the game's first release.

Trivia
* Despite what may be believed from his role and dialog, the Monk does not unlock the gold rings throughout the game's world in Rayman Redemption, as they're all available by default, excluding the first one launched by the Monk in Gong Heights.

Gold rings are objects which appear in some fan fames, such as Rayman Redemption. They allow Rayman to grapple to them and reach far places in some levels.

In Rayman Redemption
Gold rings are similar to the pink rings encountered in Rayman Redemption, introduced by the Monk in Gong Heights to help him on his quest to defeat Mr Dark.
Despite what is implied by the game, gold rings are not unlocked by meeting the Monk as they are already available by default, unlike the pink helpers with the toontotems. Only the first gold ring in Gong Heights is placed by talking to the Monk, and therefore, completing the level is not mandatory to progress through some of the game's worlds, unlike opening the toontotems.

Rayman can grapple to gold rings by throwing his telescopic fist at them, which will cause him to rotate around the ring on a rope of sparkling particles. Rayman can then jump off the rings at any time to propel himself very far in any direction or angle, allowing him to reach very high or distant places.

They are most prominently featured in the second part of Gong Heights and in the Ring Toss Tussle Magician challenge.

In Rayman ReDesigner
If solid collisions obstruct the swinging of Rayman while grappling to a gold ring, he will automatically fall from it.
Rayman can however move through passthrough tiles while attached to a gold ring, which can be used to get below them and to design more ways to get around the environment in custom levels.

Similar objects like the pink rings are also featured, as well as the new metal rings which have a very similar appearance to the gold rings.

Unlike the flying rings from Rayman 1 or Rayman: The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror, pink rings do not appear right away, and must be freed from the Toontotem of Moskito's Nest, as the first type of pink helpers encountered in Rayman Redemption.
Before being freed, a wingless transparent image of them can be found at the spots where they'll subsequently appear.
As a result, their release replaces the grappling fist power granted by Betilla in Rayman 1, as Rayman begins his adventure with all of his powers already unlocked.

Rayman can grapple to pink rings by throwing his telescopic fist at them, which will enable Rayman to swing on a rope of sparkling particles, allowing him to reach further and higher places.

Sometimes, Rayman will encounter red sickly versions of them, recognisable by their different color and black eyes. These variations will start falling as soon as Rayman grapples to them, which can prove dangerous in many situations. Red pink rings reappear after a short while after they fall from the level.

In Rayman ReDesigner
The pink and red rings make a return in Rayman ReDesigner, found in the utility tab of the level editor. Rings can be linked to events such as gendoors but cannot be flipped.

The pink ones can be assigned many different behaviors, such as moving in eight different directions with a speed ranging from 0 to 5, only moving on contact when Rayman grapples to them, stopping when blocked by reactionary collisions, or moving mirrored when blocked while moving diagonally instead of being bounced to a different angle.
Swinging on a pink ring moving downwards or a red ring can be used to get below some passthrough tiles, allowing more unique ways to reach certain areas in custom levels.

Other pink helpers are also featured, as well as similar objects like the gold rings, or the new metal rings having the same properties as pink rings but requiring the LockJaw laser-washing powder to be used.

Trivia
* Unlike Rayman 1, they can talk in Rayman Redemption, and thank Rayman for releasing them. Curiously, their name is displayed as "pink helpers".
* The pink rings can be unlocked without freeing them from their Toontotem by entering the "PINKBEST" cheat code.

Their existence is first explained by Betilla, telling Rayman in which parts of the Valley he must find them. They appear three times throughout the game, showing up at the end of Moskito's Nest, Tempest Terror and Molten Depths.

The first one is found after defeating Moskito and contains the pink rings. The second one is discovered after Darktoon's second defeat, hiding the pink springs. The third one is reached after beating Darktoon a final time, freeing the pink poles.
